Widely used as a household cleaner and a booster for laundry detergent, borax is a combination of boron, sodium, and oxygen. It is often found in dry lake beds in places like California’s Death Valley, where the evaporated water leaves behind deposits of minerals.
Ingredients: Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate.
Directions: Simply dissolve 1/2 cup of borax for every gallon of warm water. Pre-soak your laundry items for about 30 minutes in the borax solution. As a toilet bowl cleaner: pour 1 cup of borax into the toilet bowl at night before you go to sleep. The next morning, clean out the toilet bowl with a brush.
